UN migration pact rejected by Australia and they stick with hardline asylum-seeker policy

Australia would not sign up to a migration agreement by the United Nations as it would compromise the hardline immigration policy and would risk the national security. It has joined the US, Israel and many other Eastern European countries in rejecting the UN Global Compact for Migration.
