Donald Trump’s top adviser has set up a timer on Iran to mend its way. It seems war is becoming imminent unless Iran decides to back off. The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed that there is really no time left with Iran before the United Nations arms embargo on it expires and Qasem Soleimani’s travel ban ends.
Pompeo seems to be wishing to increase pressure on the Iranian regime until “it stops its destabilising behaviour.” The United Nations arms embargo and travel ban will end on October 18, 2020.
Pompeo has said, that “the Islamic regime in Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terror. For over 40 years their malign behaviour and support for terrorist proxies have spread uncurbed.
The implementation of the JCPOA, informally known as the “2015 Iran Nuclear Deal” has placed even more resources and money at the regime’s disposal, furthering the reach and aggression of their malign activities. Time is running out on international agreements restraining the Iranian regime.”Qasem Soleimani is the head of the brutal Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and will be prevented from a travelling post-October 18, 2020.
It also seems the control over the Iranian regime is a way to control its military power where it has prospects of selling far more than the United States to the rest of the world. This means selling to terrorist proxies as well as not to mention countries like Russia andChina wishing to sell back to Iran regime tanks, missiles, and air defence equipment.
This could mean the start of a new arms race in the Middle East and further destabilise the region and the world.
