‘Russian Influencer Operation Might Have Swayed American Voters’-Former CIA Director Brennan

The former Central Investigation Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan has indicated that certain American voters’ decision to vote could have been influenced by Russia’s 2016 election interference operation.

This has confirmed the meddling of election numbers, something that has already been confirmed by the official assessments of U.S. intelligence agencies and lawmakers.

Brennan has been a part of Barack Obama’s administration and had been flagged by Trump for voicing his disagreement over the way Trump administration was functioning.

He has been a huge critic of Trump, leading to the latter revoking his security clearance for making what Trump has called “unfounded and outrageous allegations” about his administration.

Currently, Brennan’s comments to the press are coming as a contrast to conclusions published over Russian involvement.

A series of official investigations were carried out into the hacking, leaks and social media influence campaign carried out by Russian hackers in the run-up to the 2016 presidential contest. Moscow has (obviously) denied interfering in the election.

There is proven evidence that Moscow had interfered with the election process in 2016 when Hilary Clinton was contesting. Barack Obama had then warned Vladimir Putin against this action and sanctioned Russia to prevent any further damage.

But Trump still secured his win. It is confirmed that a farm troll company was employed to create fictitious social media accounts and influence the mindset of American voters through fabricated information and articles circulated through these accounts and blogsites.

The Senate and House Intelligence Committees in 2016 had conducted their own investigations into this matter.

They found compelling evidence to substantiate Russian involvement. Trump denied the interference, contending that it was a “hoax” perpetrated by Democrats to explain Clinton’s loss.

He dismissed FBI Director James Comey in part over his investigation of Russian meddling.

Brennan, while indicating that voting might have been influenced, mentioned that his statement was being made in his own individual capacity and he did not know as to how many of such votes might have been cast, post a staged influence.
