Right Group Find That Concerned Western Powers Turn Silent over Human Rights

On Thursday, global pressure group Human Rights Watch (HRW) stated that global powers have become so deflected by populism and domestic displeasure that they lack the competency or tendency to protect the human rights or even carry out an investigation on suspected war crimes.
The head of the global pressure group, Kenneth Roth, stated that the United States along with the largest nations of the European Union, who since the days of the Cold War have made use of human rights verbiage as a core foreign policy instrument, were no longer as dependable as partners.
Starting its annual survey of the human rights situation around the globe, Roth stated the duty of opposing brutality was more and more weakening and collapsing to domestic pressure groups. For instance, US President Trump was busy welcoming the autocrats whom he finds friendly. Similarly, Britain was absorbed with Brexit. Even German Chancellor, Merkel has been put in a difficult situation by a far-right challenge.
Roth stated that France, the U.S., and Britain didn’t get involved with the HRW when it was contacted by the HRW with an offer for a human rights investigation of war crimes being carried out in Yemen.
The development of ad hoc coalitions of nations and domestic activists groups bearing a strong “human rights pushback” was a crucial theme of the group’s 674-page World Report.
The 57 nations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), who is silent on human rights issues other than in Israel, had also appeared as an ally, speaking up for their Rohingya co-religionists who has been going through expulsion in Myanmar. However, one needs to wait and see if the OIC would increase its voice for the million Uighur Muslims being arrested in so-called re-education centres in China. Roth feels that this situation was the world’s most neglected human rights crisis.
