Qatar naval forces would soon hold a joint training session with Iranian forces in the Indian Ocean. The interaction and exchange of training experience in the field of Navy were meant to strengthen the trust and level of cooperation between the two nations. Qatar navy commander reciprocated with similar warmth and accepted the invitation.
On Thursday, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Khanzadi invited the Qatari army to participate in the joint military exercise in the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS).
Khanzadi extended the invitation during his meeting with his Qatari counterpart in Doha two days ago.
Khanzadi also emphasized the need for cooperation among the nations’ naval fleet as he said, “considering the high-level training capacities in Iran, Qatari navy commanders can take advantage of this capacity to enhance their level of training and interaction as well as exchanging experiences.”
Referring to the presidency of the Iranian navy in the Indian Ocean Navy Commanders Summit called “IONS”, Khanzadi said, “Iranian Navy Force invites Qatar Navy to attend IONS wargame, which is going to be held in the northern Indian Ocean by the end of this year.”
Prior to that, the Iranian Navy leaders also held meeting with senior Pakistani military commanders extending a similar invitation. Looks like Tehran is trying to form allies in the region to combat the Arab nations who oppose its Islamic extremist ideology.
Besides, Khanzadi also highlighted how his nation already holds a joint naval relief-rescue training session with naval forces of Oman on an annual basis. He said, “Enhancing the level of integration and mobility of naval forces of the two countries, increasing the security level of joint maritime borders and exchanging experiences are some of the main objectives of organizing joint wargames.”
