Muslim Brotherhood’s repressive policy against press freedom

This obscurantist policy doesn’t affect only journalists, but is particularly widespread also in the academic circuits. According to a recent research conducted by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), most of the western universities including the Americans Yale, Harvard, Cornell, and Georgetown, are receiving large donations from foreign governments, in particular from Qatar.

There is nothing unconstitutional about a college accepting a donation from a foreign regime. But when a think-tank advises institutions, the EU, or a Member State, hiding the fact that it is receiving such funds, this can be dangerous.

The ISGAP research project Follow the Money, has for more than seven years assessed foreign funding of leading US universities by Qatar, its foundations, and affiliated corpor“Terrorist as much as you want, I am so sure of my work, my truth, I am so attached to them that you are surprised. I did not lie in a single line, nor insulted anyone. In our fascist time, the journalist is called a criminal.

A small secret from your shooter to your regime: you will go, but we will stay!”. Wrote on Twitter the Turkish journalist ErkAcarer. Last week, the Istanbul chief prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for Acarer for revealing the identity of one of the intelligence officers allegedly killed in Libya. The colleague took Twitter to say he never lied or reported any news inaccurately, adding that he will not be intimidated by such actions of Erdogan’s regime.

This is just the latest example of repression by the Ankara government. Erdogan’ security forces previously arrested the director of ODA TV, BarışTerkoğlu, along with journalists BarışPehlivan and HülyaKılınç. Ferhat Çelik and AydınKeser, working on the local newspaper YeniYaşam, are also in jail with false charges of terrorism. The Muslim Brotherhood movement, to which Erdogan belongs, uses to control the media.

Many journalists and influencers confirmed they receive large amounts of money from the Qatari Government to give public opinion a good image of the leadership or not to mention the Qatari involvement with terrorist groups active in the Arab world and Europe.

The research project led by Dr. Charles Asher Small and Dr. Glen Feder, an expert on the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States, and a top investigative accountant Michael Bass, found that Federal reporting requirements and procedures have been inadequate to keeping track of funding coming from abroad.

ISGAP reported that from 1986 to 2018, Qatar donated $4,955,969,671 to various institutions, but only $1,982,267,512 was properly published. The research pointed out that Qatar is funding academies to boost its image or to support its foreign agenda in the region, its involvement in the Arab crisis, and to cover its support for terrorist organizations as well.
