The world’s renowned smartphone manufacturers gather at the Mobile World Congress every year to announce their new inventions and showcase new products. This year the event has been organized in Barcelona.
The announcements made by the various smartphone manufacturers are given below.
Samsung didn’t launch any new product at the conference but notified some changes in the existing products named S9 and S9+. The new versions of the S9 come with a better quality camera able to take photos in low light. The new camera in the phone captures 12 shots per capture. With setting variable aperture options and cut down in the background fuzz by 30 percent, the new camera is quite good. The speakers in the new version of the phone delivers 40 per cent more sound and video recording can be done at 960 fps. The finger print scanner has been shifted to the back below the camera.
Sony has launched updated versions of Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact which has been named Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact. In the newer version the edgy angles has been replaced by smoother curves.XZ2 has a all glss back with metal finish, which is available in a wide range of colours. Both the devices have 19megapixel of rear camera. XZ2 has 5.7 inch HD display while XZ2 Compact has a 5 inch display. A new set of Bluetooth earbuds have also been showcased in the event which would be very comfortable to use due to its unique design.
This year Nokia is focusing on redesigning its 8110 model. This phone was first released in 1996. The new version of the phone ws the original curvu design and of course Snake in it. HMD who handles Nokia has launched a new phone named Nokia 8 Sirocco. The features of this phone include 6 GB of RAM, face unlock and 2K, 5.5 inch P-OLED display. Nokia 7 has also been launched at WMC along with updated version of Nokia 6.Nokia 7 has a 6 inch display with a rear camera and dual sensors for better photos in low light while Nokia 6 has been updated with Snapdragon 630. Nokia also launched Nokia 1 priced at 79 pounds which comes with a 4.5 720p display and has a plastic back.
Huawei did not come up with any new smartphones at the congress but revealed its new range of 3 Laptops. It launched a laptop named MateBook X Pro which has a 14 inch display, 3K screen and 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. The camera is hidden on top of the keyboard. It has an Nvidia graphics card, 16 GB of RAM and Intel core i7 processor. MediaPad M5 which has two versions one with 8.4 inch display and another with 10.8 inch display have octa-core processor and runs on Android 8. Both have inbuilt speakers with surround sound. The prices of these devices are yet to be confirmed.
