Kingdom Readies Task Force For Disaster Management To Head To Yemen

In a rare move, Saudi Arabia has readied at army of 60 individuals trained to manage and eliminate conflict, ensure stability and contribute to the development of Yemen.

These comprise Saudi nationals that hail from government ministries who have completed a training course and undertaken workshops jointly organized by the Kingdom and the US.

This has been confirmed by the Kingdom’s envoy to the country, Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber.

Al Jaber is the general supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY). He shared that the participants were ready to contribute to the development of Yemen and were equipped with the necessary knowledge to do so, especially as it required solving complex issues that were aggravated in conflict zones.

Saudi Arabia and US are close alleys and have helped each other in many combat training and other kinds of economic plans as well.

The Yemeni war started in 2015 and since then, has lead to the worst humanitarian crises the world has ever seen.  It was essentially ‘just’ supposed to be a civil war between the two factions; the Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi led Yemeni government and the Houthi armed movement, along with their supporters and allies.

Both were then claiming to constitute the official government of Yemen. Like any other moment of evolution, Yemen was going through its own. But the owns vowing for power over its rich reserves of oil and natural gas, have now made it a playground of power.

And since then, a lot many nations have naturally jumped on the bandwagon and there is no respite to misery facing this essentially agriculture driven nation.

Since 2016, the country has been dealing with a cholera outbreak leave alone over the 3.3 million children and pregnant or lactating women who currently suffer from acute malnutrition.
