Hundreds of lawyers in Turkey arrested and put for mass prosecution

The Human Rights Watch has released a report stating that Turkey has arbitrarily jailed about hundreds of lawyers and also put them on trial after the failed military coup of the country in 2016 in the month of July. This move by the Turkish authorities was for a major assault upon the right of a fair trial and also of the role of the lawyers in the administration of justice. The report that was released by the Human Rights Watch examined how the failed military coup of the country had impacted on the lawyers and also targeted them with a criminal investigation and deliberated detention.
