Daesh has taken responsibility for the suicide bomb attack in Egypt’s troubled North Sinai Peninsula, two people got killed and three injured.
The militant group asserted in an announcement on the Daesh’s affiliate website that the militant was named Abu Omar El-Seedy and he exploded his loaded jacket close to the army checkpoint at dawn on Thursday.
The suicide bomber targeted on a heavily armored vehicle close to the nearby market of the northern Sinai town of Sheik Zuweid, stated by the Egyptian security official.
The blast killed a soldier, a local civilian and injured three soldiers.
Egypt has struggled Daesh militants for many years in the Sinai Peninsula.
The insurgency has infrequently affected the entire territory, striking attacks on minority Christians and sometimes tourists.
