Democracy Disrupted In Malian Presidential Election By Al Qaeda Attacks

The Malian Presidential vote faced many attacks and one by the al Qaeda joined the violent interruptions. In Mali’s northern Kidal region village, Aguelhok, 10 mortar rounds were fired near a site of voting. It led to a temporary shut down of the polling station. Jama’a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin’ (JNIM), the official Sahara branch of Al Qaeda claimed the responsibility of the attack.
