“Dangerous testimonies have been revealed during the Government Handover Ceremony in November 2012 whereby the Muslim Brotherhood said that they were supporting the fighters of Benghazi Shura Council and treating the wounded in Turkey,” an unnamed military official told the Sky News.

Besides, Qatari Leaks also released a video in 2018, showing a leaked call between a leader of the Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries and a reporter from Qatar’s Al-Jazeera. The reporter, putting forward demand on behalf of Doha, asked to increase the intensity of the conflict in Libya. Ahmed Al-Gezawy, a leader of the Shura Council, said that “his brothers” (jihadists) would seize control of Benina International Airport in Benghazi and western Libya touching the borders of Egypt if they were given the required financial support and weaponry for same.
