Over church bombings, military court of Egypt sentences 17 to death

Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority consists of approximately 10% of the population. It has been a frequent target of attacks and persecution since the uprising which had been the cause of toppling of the former president Hosni Mubarak. Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for the Alexandria and Tanta bombings, both of which were suicide attacks.
