Amnesty International criticises Iran for executing ‘Sultan of Coins’ who manipulated currency markets

Iran has executed a trader dubbed the “Sultan of Coins” for hoarding gold coins and manipulating currency markets as the country faces fresh US sanctions and a deepening economic crisis. Vahid Mazloumin, 58, who spent 30 years in the trade, was hanged in Tehran.
