Al Jazeera, the news channel based in Qatar, has been spreading vicious and false information about Eritrea recently. In the latest misinformation campaign, the network is claiming that Eritrea is holding people from Yemen in prisons.
Interestingly, the channel refuses to provide any credible sources or any sources for that matter. It does not even provide proof to back up its claims. The channel showcased a few images of buildings, taken from a satellite. However, there is no proof whatsoever of those buildings being prisons.
Al Jazeera also chose to interview Matt Bryden for the same. Bryden is known for being the first chairman of the Eritrea-Somalia Monitoring Group. He was chosen by the United Nations after the sanctions had been placed on Eritrea. However, he was kicked out from the group when it was discovered that he was actually compromised. It was established that he received money and was on the payroll of a number of nations. As such, his words cannot be considered to be unbiased or truthful.
